Description
By John Guarnera
Tea bowls are wood fired in an anagama kiln. This is a huge kiln holding hundreds of pots at one time. The only fuel is from burning wood. We fire for 3 to 4 days and fire to at least 2350F. These examples are using three different shino glazes which have different looks when fired. The majority of the tea bowls which have a single shino glaze have ash sprinkled on them which provides the pink to red crystalization on the surface.
