The photos in the coffee table book From a Certain Distance were take from Mar 2020 through Mar 2021, during the lockdowns and quarantines of the first pandemic year.  They were posted, daily, on social media in response to a meme that suggested that everyone should post one positive photo every day.  The meme inspired a quest to record something beautiful, interesting, or amusing, to share, each time the observer ventured outdoors.

The book was curated and published by the Charles Bruce Foundation, a 501c3 organization, and the proceeds benefit other writers, artists, and musicians.  CBF has also published children’s books, and books on homelessness.
