Swirly Girl Silver Earrings with Nancy Sacco
July 27 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm$95.00
You can never have enough earrings! Join me for this class to add to your collection of go-to styles that you can wear with any outfit.
Make up to three pairs of earrings (time permitting), in beautiful sterling silver.
You’ll be shown how to solder using a small butane torch. You will also learn how to make your own balled argentium silver earwires. Argentium is a type of sterling silver that is very tarnish resistant and anti-allergenic due to the low content of copper in this silver alloy.
In this class you’ll learn how to how to make the graceful swirls and bends using pliers, and a tool that is never listed on any equipment list–your fingers! Then you will learn how to solder each lovely segment together. The soldering is done on a small butane torch, also known as a crème brulee torch. After your swirling and soldering is completed, you will tumble your earrings to a brilliant shine. It’s as thrilling to me as it is to my students to see the transformation that occurs in the tumbler—from ho-hum to spectacular! I always let them have the first peek at their work of art when their now-gorgeous pieces emerge from the sudsy water of the tumbler, and I wait for the gasps of delight!
Complete handout instructions and design templates will be provided for you to follow. All tools, materials and equipment needed to make these beautiful earrings will be provided. There is nothing to bring or buy ahead of time!
No prior experience is necessary. Must be at least 18 years old to sign up. Tea service from the Teafinery at BrainVessel provided and complimentary dessert by Renee Napoli.
As we will be using torches, please tie back long hair, wear close toed shoes, do not wear loose, flowing clothing and no alcohol allowed!
**Brain Vessel and/or the instructing artist reserves the right to cancel the class if the minimum student requirement is not met by two days before the class date. Refund or rain check for next class will be given.**
