June 12, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm$40.00
They say the third time is a charm…Inks And Drinks will be here at Brain Vessel for a 3rd class and midweek treat! Enjoy creating your own art while checking out all that the gallery has to offer. Your ticket includes instruction from Janet McKelvey and supplies to create a beautiful set of four coasters using alcohol based inks on ceramic tiles and the option of adding a larger trivet. Janet will take your artwork with her to finish with UV protectant spray, bar top epoxy and a cork bottom. They will be ready for you to use and enjoy in about a week. This is a perfect way to end the spring and start the summer off with a fun evening out with friends! Add on a large trivet (must purchase the four coasters to purchase the trivet) and add on a box of sweets to take home if you’d like! No artistic ability required. Seats are limited so get your ticket soon! Tea service from the Teafinery at BrainVessel provided and complimentary dessert by Renee Napoli. BYOB if you prefer.
My love for stained glass began about 20 years ago. I signed up for a beginner class and just took off from there. I haven’t used anyone else’s pattern since. (Well, except for Tiffany. I have reproduced a few of his masterpieces.) I enjoy the whole process from the idea, the design, carefully choosing each individual piece of glass and meticulously shaping them to fit together. I get most of my inspiration from nature. I marvel at the way nature is perfect, even when it’s imperfect. I love designing to suit my clients taste and environment from a six foot window down to a little suncatcher. I have custom made windows of various shapes and sizes, cabinet doors, lamps, boxes etc. There’s nothing like delivering something that moves someone’s spirit like only art can do. Today I teach the same class I started with. I also teach and enjoy working with alcohol inks, acrylic paint and glass mosaic but stained glass will always have my heart.
