Do you LOVE the holidays and decorating? Do you love glass and glassblowing? If so, this class is for you!! Join Michael Peluso in the Lower Gallery here at Brain Vessel for Christmas Ball Mania. Michael will instruct you on how to make multiple Christmas Balls for your tree!! What better way to get in the spirit of the holidays than to create your very own glass ornaments? We are excited to welcome Nancy Sacco to our artist instructed classes as BrainVessel Gallery. A perfect time of the year to make something special for you or a gift for someone special. This will be a fun class and you will walk away with a pretty sterling silver bracelet that YOU make.
Students will learn how to measure for a good cuff fit, file, form and hammer wire pieces. You will then solder the pieces together with silver solder using a small butane torch. The cuff will be hammered to shape on a bracelet mandrel and then tumbled for a beautiful shine. Nancy will provide each student with a template and written instructions. No experience required. Fall will be in the air before we know it and what better way to welcome the season than creating your very own Autumn Art Journal? Certified art teacher, Lindsay Tingler, will teach you how! Come learn the foundation of a functional journal and how to make your own using mixed papers, cardboard, etc. Fill your first page with a guided, fall inspired mixed media entry. No experience required. Ages 12 and up welcome to attend. *Students are asked to bring cereal boxes and mixed cardboard to use in this class. Come be intrigued by the fire as ceramic artist Maureen Joyce, takes you deeper into the various firing techniques of Raku. This class will have several demonstrations and multiple firings per student. Students will glaze pre-made bisqueware and experiment with glazes in the multiple firings. Unlike other processes in ceramics, the pieces are removed from the kiln while still glowing hot. Students will learn both the traditional and contemporary techniques that make this kind of firing so exciting! You’ll be able to take home your fired work the day of the workshop. This is going to be fun!! Experience the joy of fluid art! This class is great fun for anyone who wants to bring out your inner artist, even if you don't know you have one! Choose your own beautiful acrylic paint colors and you will learn how to mix, layer and pour them onto a canvas. I will demonstrate three different techniques to achieve the look that most appeals to you. There's nothing like creating your own beautiful piece of art in a beautiful art gallery. Inks & Drinks is a great class right before the holiday! Enjoy creating your own art while checking out all that the gallery has to offer. Create a gift for yourself or one to give to a loved one. Your ticket includes instruction and supplies to create a beautiful set of four coasters using alcohol based inks on ceramic tiles and the option of adding a larger trivet. No artistic ability required! You will also enjoy a complimentary sampling of the Teafinery's delicious specialty teas and homemade pastries by Renee Napoli. BYOB if you prefer. I will take your artwork with me to finish with UV protectant spray, bartop epoxy and a cork bottom. They will be ready for you to use and enjoy in about a week.Find out more »
